I suppose I'm well and truly confused.

My first thought was that the EP Distribution chart referred to the number of EP points needed to level each specific stat or skill (ex: Zanjustu or Strength) when it topped one hundred and the points no longer scaled one-to-one (EP-to-Stat/Skill), but that so long as each stat/skill remained under one hundred EP points would be spent in that one-to-one ratio.

Using this model I spent 460 EP, 60 EP over my total, so I reevaluated.

My next thought was that the chart referred to the total number of points being spent in each category (Stat or Skills) and not each individual column. This lead to me using 300 EP for 200 EP worth of skill points, because I thought the second hundred in the bunch needed to be paid for at a ratio of 2EP-1Skill point.

Where exactly am I going wrong, so I don't take up any more of your time?

With Skills you have to pay the difference between the ranks. So if you have Beginner Kidou and you want the next level then you have to pay the difference in order to level it up. << Its not hard if you do it slowly.

Example...

I want to raise my Sun Domain Skill from Advanced to Master. As of now I have 100 EP invested in the Sun Domain and it costs 200 EP in order to be considered Master. What I need to pay is 200(the cost of Master)-100(my current skill EP total). So for my advancement I need to pay 100 EP.

As for stats as long as your reiatsu meets the cap then you'll pay whatever is under the cap. So 100 reiatsu means that your stats cost 1 point each. So if you want 10 Defense then you pay 10 EP for it. Once you go past 100 however then you pay 2 per stat point. So if you want your 50 Defense to go up by 10 and you have 100 Reiatsu then you need to spend 20 points over all.

Also you do not need to put points in every Shinigami skill. If you honestly think something like Hakuda or Zanjutsu won't suit you then do not pick them. Put those points elsewhere like into stats or into the skill you want to make into your specialty.

I think I understand. The distribution chart only refers to the way EP is used to level stats, not skills. Skills have set costs at a ratio of one-to-one EP-to-Skill point, but are bought in tiers/ranks, hence only paying the difference. Thank you.
